FRCmM RCCB

Eaton xEffect FRCmM RCCB – Product Range and Selection Guide
Eaton FRCmM-125 residual current circuit breakers (RCCBs) are part of Eaton’s xEffect industrial switchgear range. They are designed for residual-current protection in industrial and advanced commercial installations, including applications where electronic power equipment or frequency converters can produce complex residual-current waveforms. The correct model depends on the load, rated current, residual-current type, sensitivity and required selectivity. See Eaton’s FRCmM Type B, Bfq and B+ product information.

What Do Type B, Bfq, B+ and Selective Versions Mean?

Type B: Eaton describes these devices as all-current-sensitive RCCBs intended to detect a broad range of residual-current waveforms, including smooth DC residual current, within the device’s specified operating limits.
Type Bfq: Eaton identifies this variant for applications involving variable-speed drives and frequency converters, with characteristics designed to help reduce unwanted tripping while maintaining required protection.
Type B+: A specialised all-current-sensitive version intended for applications where DC residual currents may occur and enhanced fire-protection characteristics are required by the design.
Selective / time-delayed versions: Some FRCmM variants provide intentional delay or selectivity to coordinate with downstream protective devices. Confirm the exact suffix, sensitivity and coordination requirements.

These designations are not interchangeable. Select only after reviewing the equipment manufacturer’s instructions, installation design and the specific Eaton datasheet. Eaton FRCmM-125 catalogue (PDF).
Key FRCmM-125 Specifications to Check
Eaton’s published FRCmM-125 range includes devices rated up to 125 A, with model-specific variants and residual operating currents. For example, Eaton lists a four-pole, 125 A Type B model with a 30 mA residual-current rating. Other catalogue numbers have different sensitivities and characteristics. Do not assume every FRCmM model has the same rating.

Rated current (A): Confirm the model’s current rating and system design.
Residual operating current (mA): Select the required sensitivity for the protection objective and applicable regulations.
Number of poles and voltage: Check the supply arrangement and exact catalogue number.
Residual-current waveform/type: Match Type AC, A, F, B or a specialised version to the equipment and manufacturer instructions.
Selectivity and delay: Confirm whether a selective/time-delayed model is required for coordination.
Short-circuit coordination: An RCCB does not provide overload or short-circuit protection by itself; follow Eaton’s stated backup-protection requirements.

FRCmM RCCB vs MCB vs RCBO
An RCCB detects residual current (earth leakage). An MCB protects against overload and short circuit. An RCBO combines residual-current and overcurrent protection in one device. An FRCmM RCCB must therefore be coordinated with suitable overcurrent protection according to the installation design. See our Eaton RCD range, MCB range and RCBO products.
How to Request an Eaton FRCmM RCCB Quote
To help identify the correct device, provide the full Eaton catalogue number or a clear photo of the front label, required quantity, supply voltage, rated current, residual sensitivity, number of poles and the equipment/application (for example, a drive or converter). Mention whether selectivity or a time-delayed version is required. We can then review the requested model and confirm availability and pricing before ordering.
